ACH stands for Air Changes per Hour or “number of air changes per hour.” It means:
ACH is a measure of the volume of air within a room. How many times has it been completely emptied or replaced within 1 hours?

Example:

If a room measures 100 cubic meters and the ventilation system can blow in 300 cubic meters of new air per hour.

ACH = (300 / 100) = 3 times/hour
This means that the air in this room will be changed 3 cycles per hour.

How important is ACH?
 • Used to control indoor air quality.
 • Very important in rooms that require cleanliness, such as cleanrooms, operating rooms, laboratories.
 • Used in designing ventilation systems in buildings such as hospitals, offices, bathrooms, classrooms, etc.
